How to integrate Capsule CRM with Mailchimp
We've developed an integration with Mailchimp to enable you to create email campaigns easily. Use Capsule's powerful list filters to build mailing lists that can be exported to Mailchimp quickly, unsubscribe individual contacts from mailing lists from inside Capsule without needing to go into Mailchimp, or add your new mailing list subscribers as contacts.
The integration is a great way to ensure that the contacts you've been tagging and customizing in Capsule get added to the right audience in Mailchimp with all the details needed to send out the relevant marketing to them.
Two ways to integrate Mailchimp
Depending on your company size, business objectives, or marketing efforts, you can use our regular Mailchimp or Mailchimp Webhook integrations.
The regular Mailchimp integration, which lets you add lists of Contacts from Capsule directly into an audience in Mailchimp, is available on Free, Starter, Growth, Advanced and Ultimate.
How to enable the regular Mailchimp integration
Any administrator in Capsule can set up the integration. You first need to create a new Mailchimp API key to enable it. To do that:
- Login to Mailchimp > Account > Extras > API Keys.
- From there, use the button to Create a Key.
Click on the 'not set' label to rename it and call it 'Capsule' to help you remember for the future.
- Finally, copy the newly created API key.
Next, you need to use that API key in Capsule. To complete the setup:
Login to Capsule and go to Account Settings > Integrations > Mailchimp.
- Paste the API key from Mailchimp into the Key field in Capsule.
- Click the button to Enable Integration, and you're done.
The Mailchimp Webhook Integration is only available on Starter, Growth, Advanced and Ultimate plans. This is enabled on a per-list basis. Once this is set up, it will automatically add new Mailchimp subscribers as Contacts in Capsule, and when a subscriber is updated in Mailchimp, their corresponding Contact in Capsule will get a note detailing the update and a Task for you to check the update. If they decide to unsubscribe from your list, the tag Mailchimp: unsubscribed will be added to the Contact in Capsule.
Any administrator in Capsule can set up the integration. The Mailchimp Webhook part requires first enabling the normal Mailchimp integration as per the steps above.
How to enable the Mailchimp webhook integration:
Login to Capsule, go to Account Settings > Integrations > Mailchimp and switch to the Mailchimp Webhooks tab.
From this page, you'll see a list of all your Mailchimp audiences.
Click Add Webhook next to the audiences that you want to enable it for.
Select the user on your account who will be assigned the follow-up tasks, and then confirm by clicking on Add Webhook.
Benefits of integrating Mailchimp with your CRM
Businesses must stand out in a crowded digital landscape. Ensuring relevance and personalization of messages to each customer, avoiding spam filters, maintaining a clean email list, and measuring the effectiveness of campaigns are all critical to success. It's difficult to tackle all these challenges simultaneously, but a CRM integration with Mailchimp can offer the tools and solutions to overcome them.
Here are some key reasons why you should use a Mailchimp CRM for your marketing:
You can better understand your customers and their needs with a CRM. By tracking customer interactions and behaviors, businesses can create more personalized and targeted marketing campaigns that resonate with each customer. You can use a CRM with integrated marketing software to track a customer's past purchases and browsing history. And based on this data, you can create more targeted campaigns likely to interest your customers. This leads to higher engagement, higher conversion rates, and ultimately increased revenue for the business.
A CRM integration with Mailchimp can significantly improve marketing efficiency by automating tasks and workflow, especially data importation and exportation. It enables seamless synchronization of contacts between two platforms to eliminate manual entry and ensure accurate customer data.
A CRM is a centralized platform for managing customer data. This improves collaboration and communication between marketing, sales, and customer service teams. With a shared view of customer data, teams can work together to provide a seamless and cohesive customer experience. Customer-facing teams can access a customer’s purchase history. Marketers can segment and analyze customer data, and sales teams can identify and prioritize leads based on engagement with marketing campaigns.
Mailchimp, with a CRM system like Capsule, can also help businesses track and analyze key performance metrics. You can analyze email engagement and sales conversion data to continuously refine your marketing efforts and optimize future campaigns with Mailchimp. You can also identify areas for improvement in your marketing strategies and make informed decisions to drive growth.
One of the significant benefits of using Mailchimp CRM integration is that it can be more cost effective than traditional marketing methods. This is because a CRM system allows businesses to create more targeted and personalized messaging in a single database.
Traditionally, businesses would send out mass emails to a huge mailing list without segmenting based on understanding the preferences or behaviors of individual customers. A marketing CRM allows businesses to create targeted campaigns more likely to resonate with individual customers, eliminating the need for costly and ineffective mass marketing campaigns. Through segmentation of audiences based on criteria such as demographics, behavior, and preferences, businesses can create more personalized and effective campaigns that result in higher engagement and conversion rates, thereby reducing marketing costs.
